PS2-PS3 Controller Converter Issues

After extensive research and no definant answers to the huge question of the conversion of specialized controllers of PS2 to the PS3, I have come to several conclusions for the sake of everyone and so that no one has to go through the 3-hour online search I went through. I will provide source links for you to make your own.
There is no guaranteed, 100% working playstation 1/2 to playstation 3 controller converter. Every single one I found either had all bad ratings, or a really good review and a whole bunch of people commented on the review saying it wasn't true and that it sucked. One thing I did notice was that certain converters did actually work, but it depended on the type of PS3 and the version of controller you have. One person mentioned a converter at Radio Shack that actually had a working converter, but searching the Radio Shack website came up with no results of any kind of video game system converter. I also looked into the dependable Pelican Accessories Website and found their item the PS2 to PS3 converter. According to their description, it works with every item on the PS2 accessories list including the guitars, dance pads, steering wheels, etc. But, after finding it on Amazon.com (for some reason, I can't find it now), I found poor reviews on it regarding conversion with the guitar hero guitars. Other than that, conversions seem to work fine regarding the DDR dance pads, steering wheels, joysticks, joypads, and regular controllers. Another converter is the Vista Gaming Products Version, and there are no reviews for it at all, which leads me to assume people aren't willing to buy it at all. Other than that, everything was poor, poor, bad, awful, and poor from Sony products to random companies I've never heard of.
I've come to the conclusion that to use Guitar Hero I & II, you might as well keep your PS2 right next to your PS3 and play them when necessary. With so many new songs on GHIII, I'm sure you can be kept entertained. I mean, I still have my Gamecube out, and I still have my original XBox as well, playing the older games on them when the urge succumbs me. I'm assuming that there's a huge fuss because the PS2 seamlessly allowed PS1 games to be played on it immediately when it came out. From that memory, people are expecting the same with the PS3, and if you didn't know, the 60G is the only one that is backwards compatable, so if you want to play your FFVII on your PS3, consider trying to find some sort of PS3.
Since the rest of the things seem to not have much problems besides the Guitar Hero controllers, I think that people should just make this compromise. PS3 is the best-selling console everywhere expect in the U.S.A., and that's simply because of the Halo 3 game. With the upcoming release of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, you can assume that by the beginning of 2008, PS3 will easily be on top. Still skeptical? Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy 13 will not be multiplatform and remain solely on the PS3.
In summation - stick with Pelican, play the GH I/II on PS2.
